The last five years have been difficult for me since COVID, in fact downright miserable at times. Caring for my partner during COVID through serious illnesses, along with increasing sky high rents for a flat that should have been my dream home and was anything but, only to loose a twenty year relationship took their toll heavily, along with the pit falls of horse ownership I've been a freelance groom almost as long as a model, but I can safely say the last three years have been the worst and I have little faith or trust in working with horses any more. Add complete burnout to that, for editing, travelling or researching and the constant exhaustion from working endless hours for others while moving your life in your car, and a couple of awful shoots, one in my new home, and in my head I was done modelling.
But loosing Tony suddenly this Christmas has taught me one thing. You never know how long you have here, and you make your own life in this world, and nobody else is gonna do it for you!!!!
What I do have is pretty dam good health, a figure that is still defying my forty eight years on this earth, a business and reputation as a model I worked my ass off over 15 years to build, a lovely home studio that;s all mine to set up as I please, a vast portfolio on Model Society, and AN UNRIVALLED LOCATION LIST IN THE UK! From derelict to landscape and beach shoots there isn't much I can't find, most with shelter even in Winter. I miss m night shoots too and have some fab new locations I've always fancied..
So it's time to get back to the good old days of crawling through windows, creating those crazy shoots nobody thought possible, researching and editing till midnight, and pounding the motorways with a howling dog! (optional of course) I have a couple of years left tops without my clothes and I'm gonna make the most of them....
I aso have a decent wardrobe including many new pieces and will be shooting long straight brown hair again. (Also happy to shoot my own but please be aware it's currently a dark amethyst purple)
So whether we know each other and you fancy catch up and a bit of an adventure, or a cosy home shoot with great coffee and banter, or we're new to each other and fancy trying this style of shoot please drop me a line for a chat. Contactable references and evidence of work will be required from new photographers however..
I'll be updating my site here and Model Society with regular work again and blogging weekly, including some hopefully iteresting and helpful articles, and links to other urbex work and photographers around the world to keep it interesti ng.
So if you've ever thought I'd love to try that but..... drop me a line and lets make it happen!
